Here is an excerpt from the Italian documentary film entitled: "Travels of Pietro Della Valle" directed by Parvin Ansary and produced by Parvin Ansary, NIRT and RAI in 1974. I wrote about making this film in my book. I play the historic role of Sir Robert Shirley who served in the court of Shah Abbas during the Safavid era, modernizing his army, marrying his daughter and acting as his ambassador to India and England.

The two stories film clip is from the UNAFF United Nations Affairs Film Festival at Stanford University and at UC Irvine in part of a panel discussion last year with independant film maker Jahangir Golestan-Parast, after the screening of his documentary film "Bam 6.6"
