The Land of the Dead

if Anubis had been a Cubist
what would his paintings
have been of; I wonder
about these things
in moments in
between
when
tad
poles
turn to
frogs and
the moon is
out in day time
instead of night; fills
me with fright and even
Moses with his seven plagues
on Egypt would not disagree how
odd it is to see the necropolis outlined
beneath the sand in the long shadows of
the afternoon not even a stray black dog roams
the streets of lost and found in what never was a lively town
