Somewhere beneath the sea a siren calls to me
I will never find her unless I take that leap
of faith but even that is no guarantee
I hear her song in my head in dark
of night and long to be free
to fly about the universe
unfettered by desire
shall I never climb
Mount Everest,
see the Taj
Mahal
or
the
Mountains
of The Moon
I’m dying a thousand
deaths of boredom as
hard as I work to pay my
bills, I’ve become a colorless
grey suit with only Walter Mitty dreams
